Greetings...
Welcome to the page about Belfast city, my home town...well city to be exact...in here
I'll inform you of tales, stories and happenings that'll shock ya!!....well...maybe...heehee ... Above you'll
see an old picture of Great Victoria Street, Belfast back in 1902...looks nice doesn't she?...well...theres more to her than
what meets the eye....

I mentioned above that the city has more concealed
within her walls than you will ever beable to see....what I meant was... a common site in Belfast is violence and this
aggression has been going on for generations.
Ulster Flag
The Ulster flag - FLY IT HIGH PEOPLE!!

July 11th - Bonfire Night
Aww look at the pretty fire! *claps hands and watches her burn* ... welcome
to our July 11th celebrations - as you can see our celebrations consist of a huge bonfire consisting of palettes, tyres, old
sofas and loads of other bits and pieces.
Rathcoole (the estate I was taised in) has one of the biggest every year....they
are excellent to watch and they keep ya cozy and warm all night long! lol....

July 12th - Orange March
Welcome to the day of days that all proddies in Ulster lok forward to each year!
The 12th July Orange march!!
On this day the orange men (including bands) march from a starting point ALL
around Belfast and end up back at their starting point...and basically get hammered from then on in....it is a memorable day
as it celebrates King Billy conquering his step-brother Jame II on the Battle of the Boyne many many moons ago!
The Sash
Sure I'm an Ulster Orangeman, From
Erin's Isle I came, To see my British brethren All of honour and of fame, And to tell them of my forefathers Who
fought in days of yore, That I might have the right to wear, The sash my father wore!
Chorus: It is old, but it is beautiful, And its colors
they are fine It was worn at Derry, Aughrim, Enniskillen and the Boyne. My father wore it as a youth In bygone
days of yore And on the Twelfth I love to wear The sash my father wore. |
For those brave men who crossed the Boyne
Have not fought or died in vain Our Unity, Religion, Laws, And Freedom to maintain, If the call should come
we'll follow the drum, And cross that river once more That tomorrow's Ulsterman may wear The sash my father wore!
Chorus
And when some day, across the sea To Antrim's shore you come, We'll
welcome you in royal style, To the sound of flute and drum And Ulster's hills shall echo still, From Rathlin to
Dromore As we sing again the loyal strain Of the sash my father wore! |

William III AKA Killy Billy (William of Orange)
Here is a portrait of King Billy himself charging over the fields of Boyne followed
by his army! CHARGE!!!

Street Coloration
Ain't she pretty! lol....well this is typical sections of Rathcoole
and Newtownabbey. Chris figured I was joking when I informed him that parts of these too places and many more (such
as Monkstown and Carrickfergus and so forth) were colour coded, he far from took me seeriously - would you? So I showed
him a few pics and he looked and said 'oh..you were serious'! lol....silly billy!
Reason for the places being colour coded is purely classed as territorial markings
so as you know which part your in....red, white, and blue ALL GOOD!!....green white and gold..*shudders* ALL
BAD!! *wink* wee pointer for ye!

UDA Mural
This is one of the many mural paintings around Rathcoole estate - this one represents
the UDA (Ulster Defence Association) AKA the Harebears!

Shankill Mural

Mountvernon Mural (MY FAV!)

Riots
The 3 pictures above show you a little insight to the ongoings of Belfast, from
the Falls Road, right up the Shankill, Mountvernon and even in and around Rathcoole...
The youngs (also including grown men) ... would bombard the police with petrol
bombs, nail bombs, glass jars, bricks and pretty much anything they can get the grubby hands on...why? I personally have no
idea - but it happens....

The Notorious Paddy-wagon
This is the one thee only vehicle.....formally known as the paddy-wagon....
These are the armoured vehicles that patrol the streets of Belfast City and
its surround estates....
